In real estate your product is not in an office, or at your desk. It is on the road. If you want to gain knowledge and expertise in your market it is important to hit the streets and learn your market. See what is being built, knocked down or redeveloped.
While you are on the road learning what commercial real estate opportunities your area has to offer, be sure to introduce yourself to business members of the community. Find out what they do. See if there is anything that you can do to help them.
See what is happening in the communities that you serve. Quite frequently when a person says that they sell commercial real estate consumers think of huge skyscrapers and city buildings. However, commercial real estate is so much more than that. Make sure you are making strong connections with those who own or use commercial real estate spaces including industrial buildings, small retail properties, and agriculture operations.
The commercial real estate agents that truly know their products, and community are the most successful in this industry.
